Beautiful photography! I was dive-bombed by a magpie once. I thought I’d been hit by a brick and needed a couple of stitches in my head so I know how you felt! We have very few of the birds you have photographed in New Zealand – the Mallard Duck, the blue heron, and the sandpiper would be about it. Woodpeckers have always fascinated me but I have never actually seen one. I really enjoyed your post, thank you. π

Wow! I thought I was hit pretty hard, but just a few scratches. Maybe magpies are more forceful than hawks! I love the different woodpeckers as well. There are several in the western part of the U.S. that I’ve never seen. Maybe somedayl Thanks for reading! (looking)
